Today's episode of the Madison Siewert podcast reveals an unequal pay issue starting at an early age. A young college student talks about her experience with not being treated fairly in the workplace.


The Madison Siewert podcast has been covering many issues regarding gender equity. Now it is up to the listener to determine what area this falls under.


Interviewee, Rachel Smiley, talks about her experience with new male hires getting offered more money than her. Smiley discusses whether or not this is a gender issue or an opportunity issue.


When facing the issue, she had to determine whether the unfair treatment was enough to walk away from the job.


Based on a 20,000-person survey, on average, salaries for new hires are 7% higher than existing employee salaries.


According to the Human Resource Executive, boosting wages is typically due to inflation. However, is it right to not boost other employees pay as well?


Because of inflation, this issue could be seen a lot more in America.


This podcast episode leaves the listener questioning what is and isn't fair in the workplace.


Leading to the questions, is this something that should alarm employees? Is it right for a boss to hide information from existing employees?


Everyone deserves fair pay in the workplace. No matter what type of job, people at the same job level should be making the same amount.
